WGO Foundation - Promoting Digestive Health.

WGO Foundation Vision

To provide equal access to high quality patient care for digestive disorders on a global scale.

Our Philanthropic Partners

We believe there could be considerable synergistic opportunity between your corporate and foundation philanthropic goals and the work of the WGO. In particular, the WGO’s core competence in education and training could well be utilised in joint programs with any infrastructure facilities you have funded, particularly in developing countries.

An International 50 year old Gastroenterology Organisation

An International 50 year old Gastroenterology Organisation

  • We boast 100 plus national societies with 50 000 membership
  • We are one of the oldest global medical organisations
  • We are the only gastroenterology organisation serving the world with our multidisciplinary approach
  • We focus on deliverable outcomes

Gifts in Kind

Gifts in kind, which harness your organisation’s area of expertise to the cause of healthcare, are perhaps the most rewarding of contributions. For example, another future goal is to increase the accessibility and participation of the WGO Training Centers, a standardised hardware and software audio visual network linking the Centers is envisaged. This project requires particular know how, equipment and maintenance, but offers one hundredfold educational leverage for each dollar invested.

Please refer to our Outreach Program section for more examples of ‘Gifts in Kind’ giving.

Joint Programs

One of the WGO’s great strengths is its multidisciplinary approach. This we have harnessed in the preparation and delivery of educational curricula, particularly in developing low-resource countries. These curricula provide the perfect opportunity for joint programmes with philanthropic partners who are skilled in particular areas, and may contribute this knowledge to the learning material, as well as providing physical facilities.

Programmatic Giving

While unrestricted gifts allow us to support our programs, it is just as important for the WGO to work with donors who bring the specific requirements of their own social investment programs into the partnership. Within our work there exist many opportunities for you to align your contribution with great precision to the goals of your own Foundation’s programs.

Our Philanthropic Partners

The WGO Foundation is in an early phase of developing partnerships with global philanthropic foundations focused on Training and Education programs with a particular emphasis on developing low-resource countries. Several joint projects involving existing and potential Training Centers are under way.
